B. Lincoln Esq. Restaurateur Local Foods Restaurant

One of the Charlotte region's most revered restaurants, B. Lincoln Esq.--Restaurateur is a distinctive destination restaurant that people go out of their way to visit. B. Lincoln Esq. Restaurateur is adherent to the locavore movement using only seasonal, locally produced, family farmed, vegetables, meats and wines. The food is fantastic with flavors bursting from every dish.

Its wine library includes selections from every winery in the Catawba Valley as well as every winery in North Carolina. Its notable Rathskeller (basement tavern) is known for its premier selection of hand crafted beers from across North Carolina as well as its many social events.

Almost as impressive as the food is the restored 1920s craftsman style building that once served as a grammar school, women’s club house and youth recreation center. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it underwent an extensive rehabilitation to covert the main floor and daylight basement to restaurant and pub space. With high ceilings, wood floors and floor to ceiling windows, the main dining area has classic school house character. The Rathskeller has more intimate spaces with a huge masonry fireplace, comfortable sofas and pub chairs, low lighting, lounge and bar area with immediate access to the year round outdoor patio area.

B. Lincoln Esq. Restaurateur takes its name from Revolutionary War General Benjamin Lincoln also the namesake of Lincolnton and Lincoln County.
